Posted on March 12, 2021 by Editor

Risk Level:
Tillamook County will move into the “Moderate Risk” category effective Friday 3/12/21 – Thursday 3/25/21. As calculated by Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Tillamook County had 31 new confirmed positive and presumptive COVID-19 cases from Sunday 02/21/21 – Saturday 03/06/2021 which met disease metrics to move up in risk level. Next movement date will be Friday 03/26/21. If cases decrease below 30 over the next two weeks we would be eligible to move back to “Lower Risk.” If cases increase above 45 over the next two week we would move to the “High Risk” category or even the Extreme Risk if cases are 60 or more. In the “Moderate Risk” level businesses may still operate but with stricter capacity limits and reduced hours. Indoor social gathering size decreases to 8 with no more than 2 households and outdoor social gathering limit 10 people. Remote work is recommended if possible. Visit our website tillamookchc.org to find the details of what Moderate Risk level means.

Vaccines

Vaccine Administration – as of Friday March 12th, 2021:
2,290 Phase 1A Primary Doses
1,947 Phase 1A Booster Doses
2,823 Phase 1B Primary Doses

Total 5,113 primary vaccines have been administered since they arrived at the end of December 2020 in Tillamook County. Currently 19.3% of Tillamook County residents have been vaccinated!

Tillamook County vaccine partners continue to hold vaccine clinics weekly still vaccinating all those eligible in Phase 1A, and groups 1-4 of Phase 1B. We plan to be able to open up scheduling to the last currently eligible group of phases 1B, group 5, those 65 and older starting this upcoming Monday March 15th . If you fall in Groups 2-5, please be patient, we are currently vaccinating 600-700 individuals each as that is all that vaccine we are receiving. There are more than 2,000 Tillamook County residents that remain in the phase 1B registry. When being called for an appointment, staff will call multiple times and leave a message identifying themselves and the purpose of the call. If no contact is made after the third attempt, the name goes back in the computer for future calls.

We would like to remind those attending large vaccine clinics to please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive early, please wait in your car until it is your appointment time. It is important that we practice COVID-19 precautions: washing your hands frequently (hand sanitizer is available), watch your distance 6 ft and wear a mask. Additionally, please accept the earliest appointment that is made available to you and prioritize this appointment. Rescheduling and cancelling your appointment is difficult to accommodate. If you have medical concerns about the vaccine, please consult your health care provider.

If you have not already done so, we encourage all who are eligible in these groups 2-5 (65+) to enroll in our eligibility form in English or Spanish on tillamookchc.org. Help is available with the online enrollment form by calling our vaccine line: 503-842-3914. Staffed Monday- Friday 8am -5pm with bilingual (English and Spanish) staff.
