Risk Level:
Tillamook County will stay at the “Moderate Risk” category for the next two weeks effective this Friday 03/26/2021. As calculated by Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Tillamook County had 33 new confirmed positive and presumptive COVID-19 cases from Sunday 03/07/2021 – Saturday 03/20/2021, which met disease metrics to remain at “Moderate Risk.”
While this is welcome news as after last week’s “warning data” showed Tillamook County with 40 cases, getting closer to “High Risk” than “Moderate Risk,” we ask you to not let your guard down. Continue to take COVID-19 safety precautions: wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, watch your distance (6ft), stay home if ill unless seeking medical care. No cost COVID-19 testing is available, appointments are required and can be made by calling: 503-842-3900.
720 primary (1st) doses + 150 boosters (2nd dose) this week.
Vaccine Administration – as of Friday March 26th, 2021:
- 2,587 Phase 1A Primary Doses
- 2,575 All booster Doses
- 3,983 Phase 1B Primary Doses
Total 6,570 primary vaccines have been administered since they arrived at the end of December 2020 in Tillamook County. Currently 25% of Tillamook County residents have been vaccinated and of that, 11.5% are “fully vaccinated” (completed the 2-dose series)!
Tillamook County vaccine partners continue to hold vaccine clinics weekly, vaccinating approx. 700 eligible resident each week. We would like to remind those attending large vaccine clinics to please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive early, please wait in your car until it is your appointment time. It is important that we practice COVID-19 precautions: washing your hands frequently (hand sanitizer is available), watch your distance 6 ft and wear a mask. If you have a vaccine question, our vaccine line is available at: 503-842-3914. Staffed Monday- Friday 8am -5pm with bilingual (English and Spanish) staff.
We are planning something big! Starting March 29th, all eligible groups will be able to schedule their vaccine appointment directly online using the Tillamook County Vaccine Scheduling Tool. The scheduling tool will allow you to choose the location most convenient for you across the county. On March 29th you will be able to access the scheduling tool on the Tillamook County vaccine providers’ websites. Be on the lookout for more information next week. Our vaccine line will remain available to help those with limited or no internet access to schedule an appointment. Please keep in mind that the health systems are strained making call wait times longer for this reason please try to schedule with the online vaccine scheduling tool.
In addition to the vaccine scheduling tool, outreach and planning is underway with individuals in our community who are experiencing houseless, incarcerated, and with our seafood, agriculture, and food processing businesses.
Phase 1B Group 6, eligible as of March 29th:
- Adults 45–64 with one or more underlying health conditions: Cancer, Chronic kidney disease, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Down Syndrome, Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies, Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant or HIV, Obesity (BMI greater than or equal to 30 kg/m2), Sickle cell disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Migrant and seasonal farm workers
- Seafood and agricultural workers
- Food processing workers
- People living in low-income senior housing, senior congregate and independent living
- Individuals experiencing houselessness (sheltered and unsheltered)
- People currently displaced by wildfires
- Wildland firefighters
- Pregnant people 18 and older
Past eligible (1A + 1B groups 1-5) which still may book an appointment:
- Childcare providers, early learning and K–12 educators and staff
- People 65 and older
- All health care workers
- Skilled nursing and memory care facility workers and residents
- Tribal health programs
- Emergency medical services (EMS) providers and other first responders
- All health care interpreters and traditional health workers in any
- All staff at other long-term care facilities including, adult foster care, group homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other similar congregate care sites
- Hospice programs
- Mobile crisis care and related services
- Individuals working in a correctional setting
- Adults and youth in custody 18 years and older
- Non-emergency medical transport
- Paid or unpaid caregivers (including parents or foster parents) of medically fragile children or adults who live at home
- Adults and age-eligible children who have a medical condition or disability who receive services in their homes
- All other outpatient HCPs
- Public health settings, such or community based organizations with direct or indirect exposures

COVID-19 is a highly infectious illness that spreads like the flu. Local and state health officials continue to urge all Oregonians to take steps to protect those who are most vulnerable to complications from COVID-19. Those considered “high risk” include adults 60 and older, or anyone with a serious health condition, including lung or heart problems, kidney disease, or diabetes, or anyone who has a suppressed immune system.
To help control the spread of the illness the public is urged to stay home as much as possible and avoid gatherings.
We ask all county residents to continue to take the necessary precautions and follow current public health guidance to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus:
- Follow guidance on face coverings.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Keep 6 ft of distance from those not in your immediate household.
- Stay home if you feel ill.
