UPDATE – What’s Happening at Alderbrook Golf Course? Conversations on the Course (VIDEO)

Video Interview/Notes by Don Backman

Everybody wants to know – when is it going to open? On Thursday, January 19th, I had the opportunity to meet with Pat Zweifel and several members of his team at Alderbrook Golf Course. Envisioning a sit down video interview.  I was prepared with a tripod and camera. But anyone who knows Pat Zweifel knows that ain’t gonna happen … not when there is work to do.

As is customary, Pat was in the middle of things and, with an apology, asked if his part of the interview could be done out on the course. Since it was a nice day, that was perfect, although it meant the tripod and camera were out of the question.

Alderbrook Golf Course has been the subject of much speculation and rumor since it first closed (see link below for more details about purchase and plans.) One rumor that seemed to have staying power was that a developer had purchased it and was going to put in houses. Fortunately, that did not happen. The plan at this time is to open the course in April. This means there’s a lot of work to do in order to get it ready and a short time to get it completed which is the reason Pat was so busy. The restaurant – The Bunker Grille is hoping to open around March 1st as they have repairs to do and the necessary licenses, permits and inspections.

Pat spoke about his team, made up of Michael and Joanna Freeman, Peter and Kristin Harris, Adam and Fauna O’Brien, Monika Zweifel, and Joe and Donna Phillips. Michael Freeman will be in charge of operating the main building. Joe and Donna Phillips will be operating the restaurant facility, and Pat will have the responsibility of everything outside. He is excited at the prospect of creating something special.

Thanks so much to the Alderbrook team for taking time out of their incredibly busy schedules to provide this update.
