GORDON’S UPDATE: Weather 9/6/23

Posted on September 6, 2023 by Editor

By Gordon McCraw, Meteorologist for the Tillamook County Pioneer

A hint of fall with a bit of a chill in the air this morning. We also saw some higher clouds moving across associated with a weak and dying cold front. Other than that, it was an okay day. Tonight, the marine clouds return, along with some patchy fog after the winds die off, the low down near 48.

Tomorrow, a ridge of high pressure starts to build in and we again slowly become mostly sunny after the fog and stratus burns back, the breezy northwesterly afternoon winds becoming 8-12 gusting to 20, the high near 68. The winds die off after the sun goes down under partly sunny skies, some patchy fog returns, the low near 49.

The fog burns back mid-morning leaving sunny skies Friday, the winds becoming northwesterly 5-10, highs near 70, mostly clear skies Friday night with the calm winds and patchy fog returning, lows near 51.

Becoming sunny again Saturday, and a little warmer under sunny skies, the high near 73, then the patchy fog returns under partly clouds nighttime skies, and the low back to near 51. I guess I should add that the valley is looking at temperatures in the mid 80s.

It looks like Sunday we see partly sunny skies with another front approaching that gives us a chance of showers, the high near 71, then a slight chance of rain Sunday night, the patchy fog returns, lows near 54.

Monday and Tuesday look a couple degrees cooler behind the front with partly to mostly sunny skies, and we keep a slight chance of some patchy rain each afternoon, the high near 69. Look for partly cloudy nighttime skies with that chance of patchy fog, lows near 50.
