GORDON’S UPDATE: Weather 11/27/23 – Couple More Sunny Days, then Things Change …

Posted on November 27, 2023November 27, 2023 by Editor

By Gordon McCraw, Meteorologist for the Tillamook County Pioneer

With the high pressure ridge remaining parked near the area, we continue to see sunny days with easterly winds along with some clear, cool nights. We could see a few clouds tonight with easterly winds 8-12, the low dips to near 34, last night’s low was 28.

Tomorrow brings another mostly sunny day as the high pressure ridge slides east over us as a low pressure area on the west side of the ridge pushes towards northern California, the east winds easing, becoming 4-8 with the afternoon high near 55. The winds further ease tomorrow night, becoming light from the east still, this combined with the low of near 36 suggest you could see areas of frost developing in the early morning hours.

So, look for areas of frost Wednesday morning, that burn off quickly with the mostly sunny day, the light winds becoming westerly 4-8 in the afternoon, highs near 54. Wednesday night the clouds increase ahead of an approaching front with an increasing chance of rain starting in the early morning hours, the overnight low near 37.

The rain is likely by late morning Thursday, highs near 50, the rain continues Thursday night, lows near 38, then Friday a stronger, moister front moves in and brings rain along with a chance of thunderstorms along with some breezy winds, highs near 50, lows near 40.

Saturday looks rainy and breezy, then Sunday rainy and windy with highs near 55, lows near 44.

Looking beyond the weekend, I think Tillamook County will be watching the rivers based on what I am seeing in some of the models, it is that time of year.

A couple more things I should mention: one, the Sneaker Wave threat has eased, but as I have said, it is always there, just more likely sometimes; also, there is an Air Stagnations Advisory for the South Willamette Valley area until 4PM Wednesday. Oh, and one more thing — did you see that moon last night?? It was officially full early this morning.
