Elizabeth Ann Smith was born on June 29, 1935, to Brook and Leone White in Kelso, Washington. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on June 12, 2025, in Nehalem, Oregon.
Elizabeth graduated from R.A. Long High School in Longview, Washington, in 1953. In 1972, she moved to Oregon City, Oregon, where she lived until 1999. She then made her home in Aloha, Oregon, before settling in Nehalem in 2010 with her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Steve Carter.
Elizabeth was a woman of many passions. She had a lifelong love for reading, genealogy, music, ballet, and political conversation. Her curiosity, compassion, and strength of character left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Elizabeth is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Smith.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Elizabeth will be remembered for her sharp wit, gentle heart, and unwavering dedication to her family.
In honor of her love for animals, especially her two rescue cats Addie and Lily, memorial contributions may be made to United Paws in Tillamook, Oregon.
