The Port of Tillamook Bay and Municipal Airport participated in an ODART (Oregon Disaster Airlift Response Team) exercise, practicing an emergency response to a large typhoon/9.0 earthquake on Saturday June 14, 2025.
Working with Randy Thorpe and Ann Moorhead of Tillamook County Emergency Management as the lead, our partners at ODHS Office of Resiliency and Emergency Management, Oregon Health Authority, the local Mass Care Response Team (MCRT), and Tillamook County Auxiliary Communications (local ham radio operators), and the team from ODART, a multi-state exercise was practiced. Volunteer ODART pilots from the valley picked up 300 pounds of food cargo each, one had additional medical supplies, and headed to the Tillamook Airport. The donated food was later transferred to local food banks via MCRT. One pilot, Holly, returned with a third cargo of 300 pounds of food.
The Port of Tillamook is grateful to be part of such a well working recovery and response network.
