The Manzanita 4th of July parade took to the streets at 1pm – down Laneda Ave. to Ocean and back up Manzanita Avenue. There was the noted absence of the Nehalem Bay Fire trucks as NBFR was called out for a rescue just as the parade was beginning. At just over 30 minutes, this was one of the shortest parades in recent history … there were some entries that were dis-allowed prior to the parade due to judged “negative” or political statements (see the Pioneer’s editorial about the “apolitical” Manzanita 4th of July parade.)
