Throughout the months of October and November, check out the array of conservation-related art the North Coast Land Conservancy have displayed at the Manzanita Library!

In conjunction with the exhibit, NCLC Executive Director Katie Voelke and NCLC Marine Program Manager Angela Whitlock will present a “Celebration of Conservation” from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
The artwork included within this show is inspired by the various ecosystems within the long-landscape corridors we’ve conserved: The tidepools and other rocky habitats along the marine reserve; the wetlands, estuaries, and rivers fed by coastal rains; the rugged mountains of the Coast Range, brimming with biodiversity; and the nearshore ocean. These ecosystems function together perfectly to support life on the Oregon Coast, not only for us humans, but also for a stunning array of plants and wildlife.
Enjoy prints from Astoria-based collage artist Lindsey Aarts and well-known North Coast photographer Justin Bailie; illustrations by Sally Lackaff; pen drawings by Ron Pittard; and linocuts inspired by the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve.
