The federal government shutdown affects all of us in one way or another. The USDA has informed states that as of November 1st until federal funding resumes, SNAP benefits will not be issued. We recognize that many of our local families depend on programs like SNAP to put nutritious meals on their tables on a daily basis.
In light of the pending suspension of SNAP benefits, community leaders have come together to organize collection options for the collection of food for Tillamook County’s branch of the Oregon Food Bank. Collection barrels have been installed at the following locations:
City Hall, 5525 B Street
Mon–Thurs 7:30 – 5:00
Library, 5525 B Street
Tues–Fri 10:00-6:00
Sat 10:00-5:00
Post Office, 9220 5th Street
Mon–Fri 10:30-2:00 (window)
(Lobby open nonstop)
We encourage residents to support local families in need during these challenging times and contribute non-perishable food items at these locations.
