Alex Hamalian Announces Candidacy for Tillamook County Circuit Court Judge

Posted on January 29, 2026 by Editor

On Saturday, January 24th, Bill Porter, former DA for Tillamook County, hosted the campaign kick-off for Alex Hamalian at the Pacific Restaurant in Tillamook. When introducing Hamalian, he proclaimed, “I have known Alex for nearly thirty years, both personally and professionally. I am joining dozens of other Tillamook and Oregon community leaders in showing my support for Alex.” Porter continued in his endorsement, “Not only is Alex an exceptional lawyer, but he’s also a local, small business owner and a great dad and husband, and will serve us well on the Circuit Court.”
About 35 community members turned out to meet Alex and help him formally launch his campaign for the Circuit Court.
“As a Circuit Court Judge, I will ensure that every person who comes before the court is treated with dignity, impartiality, and respect,” Hamalian said. “My two decades of local experience have taught me that every decision a judge makes can affect not only the person appearing before the court, but the families that make up the fabric of our community.”

Alex opened his law office in downtown Tillamook in 2002 and served as Chief Public Defender for Tillamook County for 10 years. In addition, he was appointed an Administrative Hearings Officer and a circuit Court Judge Pro Tem by the state of Oregon.
“Judicial independence is essential to public trust in our courts,” Hamalian said. “This is a non-partisan office, and my commitment is to the Constitution, the law, and the people of Tillamook County.”
Hamalian has practiced law since 1996 and is the founding attorney of the Law Offices of A. Alexander Hamalian, LLC, and Rose City Law. His practice focuses on criminal defense, including DUI and complex criminal matters, giving him extensive courtroom experience and a deep understanding of how judicial decisions affect individuals, families, and communities.
The election for the 27th Circuit Court judgeship will take place on May 19. Alex has already been endorsed by dozens of local community leaders, including former Tillamook County District Attorney Bill Porter, Andy Long, Tillamook County Sheriff (Ret.), Ken Walker, Circuit Court Judge (Ret.), Neal Lemery, Author, Bruce and Teresa Lovelin, and Tillamook Mayor Aaron Burris. They love to romp on the beach with their children and dog, Charlie. For more information on Alex’s history, visit his website: AlexforJudge2026.com.
