LaNicia Duke Launches Campaign for Governor – Campaign Kickoff in Manzanita Monday Feb. 16

Posted on February 8, 2026 by Editor

LaNicia Duke announced her candidacy for Oregon Governor in early January (https://www.tillamookcountypioneer.net/lanicia-duke-announces-candidacy-for-governor-of-oregon/) and she has already single-handedly gather hundreds of signatures towards the goal of over 23,000 to put her name on the November ballot.
LaNicia will kickoff her campaign in her heart-home, Manzanita, Oregon at the Pine Grove Community House on Monday February 16th. Join LaNicia for a joyful celebration to include singing, signing and listening from Noon to 2pm.
Duke is running as a non-affiliated candidate, which means she is not supported by a party or special interests. “I lead with authenticity, truth, faith and transparency,” says LaNicia.

Her choice of Manzanita for her campaign kick-off shows her commitment to amplify rural voices. States LaNicia, “Rural communities deserve equal opportunity and equal access. Every community deserves a seat at the table.”
A new voice, she continues, “We are at a pivotal moment for our state, democracy, freedom and for our hearts. The soul of humanity is at stake, and this is a time when silence becomes irresponsible. I felt called to step up.”
LaNicia’s quest for the ballot is truly about we the people, as it will take over 23,000 signatures to put her name on the ballot. “I believe in government of the people, by the people, for the people,” says LaNicia. “We are better together. I am a community builder. I’ve worked across Oregon in a variety of communities. It’s not about a party, people are more than labels. Leadership means meeting people where they are at.”
Now you can meet LaNicia as she launches her campaign in Manzanita on President’s Day, Monday Feburary 16th from Noon to 2pm.
