Shouting out tremendous thanks to everyone who participated and made the first International Women’s Day event a smashing success! Because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback, Indivisible Tillamook Coast Action (ITCA) plan to hold it annually. A friend who attended sent this to me: “Thanks again for yesterday, it went a far bit toward healing my troubled soul…being with women, celebrating women, knitting and folk music. So nice!”
The knitting circles for frog and Norwegian resistance hats brought women together in camaraderie and unity, as did the voodoo doll craft table. Dozens of postcards to swing states were written. Resistance poster were made. Scores of signatures were gathered on the “Just Cause” petitions. Raffles for both a taco piñata and a CD Lauren Sheehan contributed raised generous donations and Tides of Change received much needed cash that will go a long way toward helping their clients.
Special thanks goes out to a number of folks who really put their heart and soul into this gathering.
To the talented and beautiful musical artist, Lauren Sheehan, for uplifting us all with her marvelous songs and stories.
To our esteemed event speakers for sharing their wisdom and thoughts with us.
