Gwendolyn Marie Maves was born to C.K. and Frankie Warren on July 15, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas. Gwen passed away March 1, 2026 in Hillsboro, Oregon.
From the mid 1970’s through the 1980’s Gwen worked in the computer switch-board industry making special components to go into TVs and computers. She worked her way up to a lead position and into the hybrid department. Later, she moved back to Tillamook and got a job as a bartender/kitchen cook at Michko’s.
Gwen loved playing women’s softball and traded off between playing catcher and pitcher. She watched old black & white movies, going shopping, doing puzzles, gardening, having food, listening to music and catching up with someone. But mostly, she loved being with family. Gwen loved being involved with the chili cookoff at Michko’s even though there was a lot of planning throughout the year.
Gwen is survived by her sister, Vicki Ackley of Tillamook, Oregon; sons Mark Maves of Grass Valley, California, and Kelly Maves of Rocklin, California; Daughter Erica Meyer of Meridian, Idaho. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and many more aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.K. (Tuffy) & Frankie B (Thompson) Warren, brother and sister-in-law Roy and Diane Warren and brother Gary Warren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Up Stairs Tavern (formerly Michko’s) in Netarts, Oregon, on March 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
