Dear Community,
Thank you for your unwavering support. We are heartened by the amazing community involvement during our chase for the Ways and Means Capital Construction dollars at the Oregon Legislature. In 48 hours you submitted 120 letters of support to the Ways and Means Committee. Most local government bodies and nonprofit organizations wrote letters of support. We thank Senator Weber for putting in the original request. This truly is a community that cares.
We endeavored to carry that energy to Salem – putting together a support package and traveling to give testimony. Unfortunately, North County Food Bank did not receive the state funds.
While these funds were important, the food bank is still pushing forward with bringing utilities onto our property behind the Hope Chest on 101 in Nehalem. We are looking at ways to further reduce the costs of our plans, while continuing to apply for all available grants. We will keep you updated!
We would love to see you at The Tie-Breaker in Rockaway—they are sponsoring a Spaghetti Feed with live music by NE Daynow on Tuesday, April 21, from 4:30 – 7:30 pm. Dinner is $18 for adults, $6 for children over 6. Beverages will be available for purchase.
Thank you for being a community that is committed to addressing food insecurity.
