The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announces the cast of “The Miracle Worker” the powerful and deeply moving play written by William Gibson, and directed by Ann Harper. “The Miracle Worker” opens May 29th and runs through June 14th. This timeless play tells the inspiring true story of Helen Keller, a young girl left blind and deaf after an illness, and Annie Sullivan, the determined teacher who changes her life forever.
This production features a dynamic cast that brings together both adults and young performers, blending experienced stage veterans with talented newcomers. The result is a vibrant and heartfelt ensemble that captures the emotional depth and energy of this beloved story. The production includes Alice Atwood as Helen Keller, Michaila Mitchell as Anne Sullivan, Kelsey Jordan as Kate Keller, Logen Steinbach as Capt. Arthur Keller, Valerie Sewell as Aunt Ev, Maddox Winters as James Keller, CarolAnn Sisco as Viney, Dennis Darling as Doctor, Leah Jordan Martins as Martha, Anthony Kleeman as Percy, Steve Sewell as Dr. Michael Anagnos, Grace Loftis as a servant, Lilith Barajas, Audrey Stenberg, Willa Sorg, and Logan Walker as blind children, and the offstage voices of Cameron and Carl Chambers.
Audiences will be drawn in by the intensity of the performances, the emotional depth of the story, and the triumph of the human spirit against overwhelming odds. “The Miracle Worker” is not just a play, it’s an experience that will leave you inspired long after the curtain falls.
American Sign Language (ASL) instruction for the actors and interpretation for this production will be provided through the Tillamook Bay Community College ASL program. This program supports the development of students’ ASL knowledge while helping expand access and connection within the community. TBCC is excited to partner with TAPA to make this event more inclusive and welcoming. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided at each of the June performances.
