Tillamook County Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary of Wellness Coalition – Making Healthy Happen

Posted on June 23, 2026June 23, 2026 by Ariel Foster

A “Year of Wellness” kicked off in 2016 with a declaration from the Tillamook County Board of Commissioners to improve the health of Tillamook County. Since that declaration, ten years of meaningful work and collaboration have transpired into better health outcomes in Tillamook County. In 2017, the year of wellness evolved into Tillamook County Wellness (TCW), a local collaborative involving hundreds of community members, more than eighty organizations and many generous donors over the last ten years.
There are so many wonderful achievements resulting from the hard work of many people over the years — too many to name. Several events and programs were launched by Tillamook County Wellness that continue to positively impact our community today. One of the key indicators of this work is reflected in the County Health Rankings. In 2016, Tillamook County was ranked 26th out of 35 counties in Oregon. In 2020, Tillamook County was ranked #10, and a lot of that can be attributed to the great work being done by all the partners working in Tillamook County Wellness.

On June 4th, the partners of both present and past Tillamook County Wellness partners gathered to celebrate the ten-year anniversary and recognize some of the great leaders and collaborative partners whose contributions over the past 10 years have made Tillamook County Wellness the successful program it is today. Nominations were solicited for three award categories: Collaboration Excellence, Individual Service Excellence, and Program/Event/Project Excellence.

Additionally, Tillamook County Wellness would like to express our appreciation to the entire community for their continued support and guidance of this impactful work within Tillamook County! Tillamook County Wellness is committed to serving our community and providing meaningful health improvements in our county for many years to come.
