Well, that was a pretty nice 4th of July weekend, even though we were cloudy Friday and started out that way Saturday, the skies finally cleared up that afternoon, so things were good for the nighttime activities, until around midnight when the clouds and fog started returning. With the high pressure ridge building today, we saw mostly sunny skies with the afternoon highs in the upper 60s. It looks like the clouds will roll in again tonight as the winds die down, the low tonight near 49.
Now Tuesday we have an upper level trough of low pressure passing to the north into British Columbia. This will only give us a few more clouds, so we expect a partly sunny day with northwesterly winds still 5-10, the high temperature tomorrow near 66. The clouds hang in there tomorrow night and depending on this trough, we might see some late-night mist from a thicker marine layer, with the calm winds, the low near 53.
So, we start out cloudy Wednesday morning, but the clouds slowly burn back to give us a mostly sunny afternoon, the high near 66 again, then partly cloudy skies Wednesday night, the low near 49.
Thursday that trough to the north will be pushing off well to the northeast so we continue to see mostly sunny skies with a pretty much zonal, or west to east flow, we get to keep the mostly sunny skies with the highs still at around 66 degrees, then another mostly clear night, the lows near 49 again.
It looks like we will have another trough dropping into British Columbia starting Friday that doesn’t push off to the east until Saturday night so Friday and Saturday stay partly sunny with highs near 66 still, and though Friday night is likely mostly cloudy, Saturday night should be better, overnight lows near 50.
By Sunday the forecast is a little more uncertain as we are not sure that trough will stay to the north, but for now it looks like we will be back to mostly sunny skies, the high up near 67, and if it all pans out, it looks like the start of next week we continue to see plenty of sunshine with warming temperatures again.
