Pizza N Progress – Community Gathering, Sunday Sept 20 at 5pm, HOC (Heart of Cartm) Studio, 395 Nehalem Blvd., Wheeler
Four local pizza makers have elected to be part of something delicious—and something bigger than pizza—a community night where people will gather over free pizza to connect with one another and begin creating a community “Wishing Wall” filled with dreams, hopes, and possibilities.
Pizza…the fuel for Dreams of tomorrow….Now that’s delicious!
Marzano’s, Mama Mia’s, Porchlight and Salmonberry are donating 2 large pizzas each so free pizza can be offered to a room full of hungry community members who join together to put their dreams for our community on a weather proof tag. The tags will then be put on the chain link fence at the blinking light in Nehalem, owned by Rocinante LLC.
To add a little spicy competition, attendees will be voting for their favorite pizza! At the end of the night, one restaurant will take home the highly coveted “Best Pie in the North Coast Community” trophy—and, more importantly, every participating pizza maker will be recognized as a local business helping bring this community vision and dreaming to life.
Pizza ‘N Progress is part of a new program of local nonprofit Fulcrum Community Resources called People, Place & Possibility. It’s a community project designed to bring neighbors together to imagine, dream, and share their hopes for the future of our community.
Other components are: the “You May Say I’m a Dreamer” Art Show coming to NCRD in Nehalem in October; Expression Nights where people share their thoughts on certain topics, and a Community Gathering in spring of 2027 where we take the tags on the fence and brainstorm how to put them in action
On September 20 it’s good pizza, good people, a little friendly competition, and a chance to be part of something positive happening right here in our community.
