To the editor:
I had the opportunity to meet Rachel Armitage when she spoke at our democratic headquarters in Tillamook. I was impressed by her understanding of what is needed in a rural community and her dedication to focusing on solving real problems to make Senate District 16 better for everyone. In this polarized time, it was refreshing to hear someone talk about working with everyone to find solutions.
One issue that is especially important to me, is healthcare. With the federal government planning on slashing Medicare after the midterm, it is especially important to have someone in Salem that will fight for protecting those rights.
She is very invested in making sure that schools will get more money directed toward the classroom. So students will get the best education.
She also wants to work on cutting the cost of housing and utilities in our rural community. My vote is definitely for Rachel.
