Hello, Tillamook County!
My name is Jesse Borough. I was born and raised right here in Tillamook, and a couple of years ago, Sheriff Josh Brown and I co-founded the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in our community.Today, I’m reaching out to offer you something important: a seat at the table at our board meetings.
Not necessarily a physical seat, but an opportunity to have your voice, ideas, and concerns heard as we plan the future of our Foundation.
Our Mission Statement:
“The mission of the Foundation shall be to raise funds and contribute for programs, services, and/or special projects that will improve the public’s safety in Tillamook County, and which are not fully funded through the budget of Tillamook County or the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office. Supported programs may include but are not limited to search and rescue, public awareness campaigns, public safety and public outreach offered to youth, the elderly and the general public.”
If you visit our website, https://www.tillamookcountysheriffsfoundation.org/ you’ll see some of the projects and initiatives we’ve already accomplished. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, but I also believe there is so much more we can do.
And that’s where you come in.
I want to hear directly from you, the people who live, work, raise families, and call Tillamook County home.
What’s important to you?
What needs do you see in our community that aren’t being addressed? What programs or projects could make a meaningful difference for you, your children, your family, or your neighbors?
Perhaps it’s a youth outreach program, additional resources for public safety, support for our elderly residents, community education, or something we haven’t even considered.
I don’t want to assume we know what our community needs. I want you to tell us.
Those who know me know that I’m an action taker. I believe in more than just having meetings and talking about good ideas. I go into every board meeting with an agenda, and I believe we should leave those meetings with clear action items and a plan to move forward.
As President of the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Foundation, I want to make sure we’re listening to the community we were created to serve.
That doesn’t mean we can fund every request or solve every problem. But it does mean we can listen, explore opportunities, build partnerships, and work toward meaningful solutions.
So here’s my question to you:
If you had a seat at our very next board meeting, and you had the opportunity to ask the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Foundation to take on one project that would benefit our community, what would your ask be?
I genuinely want to know.
Share your thoughts and send us an email – jesse.tcsf@gmail.com. I want to bring your ideas and concerns to our board and help turn good conversations into real action.
This is your community. Your voice matters. And I believe some of our greatest accomplishments may begin with an idea from someone reading this very post.
Thank you for allowing us to serve this wonderful community.
