The Tillamook County Library is entering the second phase in the redesign of its teen area at the Tillamook Main Library, and local teens are invited to help shape the process and select the design for the final layout.
All teens are encouraged to participate in a hands-on design workshop on March 18th with architects from the firm Architecture/Craft/Interior Design. Building on the initial work done by a council of teens, participants will help finish the design that will be used to remodel the teen area at the Tillamook Main Library.
“We believe that teens have the best ideas for what they would like to see in a library space,” said Library Director Don Allgeier. “This workshop will give them an opportunity to gain some real-world experience working on a space design project. Their creativity and insight will be reflected in the completed library space and make a positive impact for years to come.”
The workshop will include interactive activities such as reviewing concept diagrams, exploring potential furniture and technology options, and discussing how the space can best support studying, personal expression, and a sense of belonging. The architects will use this feedback as they continue the design process.
