Posted on October 11, 2017April 3, 2020 by Editor

TILLAMOOK, Ore – Tillamook Bay Community College and the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network today announced the hiring of Arlene Soto as the new Director of the Tillamook Bay Community College Small Business Development Center. “Arlene brings a wealth of experience helping small businesses succeed,” said Ross Tomlin, Tillamook Bay Community College President. “She has a proven track record as a business adviser and director on the Oregon Coast. I am excited for Arlene to join our team.”

Soto most recently served as the Director of the Southwestern Oregon Community College Small Business Development Center, a position she held for more than a decade. She previously spent 13 years as regional director at the Wyoming SBDC. Throughout her tenure at Southwestern Oregon, she is known for her strong relationships with the local business community and partners.

“I love making a difference for people. What we do at the SBDC makes a positive difference for individual business owners and for our communities,” said Soto. “It’s so much fun to drive down the street and see a business we helped.”

Soto has also worked extensively with the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network to improve services across Oregon. “Arlene brings great energy and passion to her clients. I’m confident in her experience and know that she will be successful in Tillamook,” said Mark Gregory, state director of the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network. “She will have a great impact on the community and businesses in Tillamook County.”
