The full Moon in Aquarius shines down on us August 8th-10th. This is one of the Summer full Moons that beckons us to adore it, much like the Leo Sun, it invites us in. This is the season of shining.
First off, a little housekeeping….It is important to know that full Moon energy isn’t just a brief hour long, but lasts for 3 days. From now on, I’m going to be posting the days of the full Moon/new Moon opposed to the exact time of 100% luminosity.
Full Moons are full of tension. The Moon sits exactly across from the Sun and that is why the full Moon rises at the same time as the Sun sets. This is called an “opposition” in astrology and is known for having pressure built into it. The evolutionary intent of this opposition is to drive us into areas that we might normally try to skirt around.
Our lovely Moon is also the closest planetary object to Earth and so therefore we FEEL it! I am sure that is one of the reasons that the ancient astrologers/astronomers aligned emotional intelligence to the Moon. We also see the effects of the Moon’s cycles from our tides to our emotions. After all, she is Earth’s only special, glorious Moon.
Ok, back to our regularly scheduled programming….
Like I was sharing earlier in the post, the full Moon is hardwired to push us towards evolution, where the new Moon is gentle and encouraging. With the Moon in Aquarius, the feeling to move forward into growth is even more pronounced.
Humans are also hardwire to evolve and consequently, so are the societies that they create. Without pressure to change, societies stagnate. This is where Aquarius comes flying in with its hero cape on. They love evolution and growth through group action. Aquarius drives us to create collective conciseness and then the desire for the individual to join in and make a difference.
Aquarius also can be the rebel that decides that the community that has formed is stagnant and needs to be dismantled or updated. They do not fold to collective pressure and are willing to take a chance to be the individualist in order to create an alternate society. Aquarius also have long range vision goggles, and the strength to carry through with opposing the system to get the the alternative future.
The Leo Sun, makes sure that self-care and kindness do not get forgotten in the pressure of this full Moon.
The energy of this full Moon gives us all access to the long-range goggles to look into our future and see if it is evolving as we would like. Then it gives us the strength to be a dissident and make the changes we need for person/collective evolution. Leo brings heart and soul to the challenge.
