Take a big deep breath Earthlings, as we are through the intense Eclipse season!
On October 6th, in the quiet dark evening, the Aries Full Moon will be at 100% illumination. This fiery Aries Moon is a Supermoon, so it is larger than life and lives out loud. It will be the first of 3 Supermoons that are closer to Earth than other Full Moons. With the weather being clear in the PNW make sure and get outside and drink in the wow factor of this harvest Moon!
Supermoons are supercharged Full Moons, bringing more energy and zing to the sign it is in. Since the Moon is in Aries across from the Libra Sun, it intensifies desire to be courageous, spontaneous and tackle a meaningful project. It can also heighten impulsivity and “foot in mouth” syndrome. (Aries are infamous for speaking before their brain engages.)
This aspect of the Full Moon is doubly amplified since Mercury, the planet of communication is squared (a tense aspect) with Pluto, the planet of transformation. Pick your battles carefully and watch your tongue. Things can escalate quickly without tempering this energy with the calm, Libra Sun energy. Keep your ego in check and walk away from potentially volatile situations.
Consequently, this can also be a very good time to honest with yourself and use the courage of the Aries Moon to tackle a project that has been hovering in the background being noisy. This energy will provide you with the enthusiasm AND the plan to get that project well on its way. Ride with it!
Aries are very connected to nature and the thrill of being alive! Unplug and get outside in nature. Exercising is particularly important during Aries Full Moons to quiet the wild horse energy. Then we can begin to listen to the Libra Sun that is also needing to be honored.
With the Sun in Libra, there is a need to balance our energy levels. This Moon also illuminates how much of our personal energy we are giving away and thus draining our lives. Perhaps it is time for better boundaries with someone or a situation in your life. Or perhaps it is time for better boundaries with ourselves and habits that do not nourish us.
Overall, this is a fabulous Full Moon for enjoying the extra boost of energy to take on a project or task. Watch your ego and tongue so you don’t escalate a potential volatile situation. Also get out and enjoy nature, go see the Full Moon rise! You’ll be so glad you did!
I leave you with a stanza from a very famous Aries Poet, Maya Angleou’s poem “Still I rise”
Just like Moons and like Suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.
