ASTROLOGY: New Moon in Scorpio on All Souls Day, 11/1/24 at 5:46am PST – The Call of Our Ancestors

Posted on November 1, 2024 by Editor

By Madame Dana Zia
Sometimes a New Moon comes along that calls us within. This is one.
Our culture is loud and insistent, driving us to reach outside of ourselves all the time. Buy more, make more, work more, have more, do more. This pressure is so captivating and constant that we can easily fall prey to it and feel guilty for not rising to the call. But this New Moon is providing a shelter from the storm of that noise. It is calling you to the within.
Calling you to listen to your lineage.
This year the noise is louder than normal with the presidential election looming above us like a dementor from Harry Potter, sucking the life out of everything. And like in Harry Potter, we need to call on our “Patronus” or inner guide to vanquish the darkness and embrace the light. That light comes from our very blood that we carry of our ancestors.

This New Moon falls on “All Souls Day” and also has a powerful relationship with Pluto and Mars, so is a perfect alignment to call upon our descendants and angels to guide us.
If you think about it, it is an incredible miracle that we are here, right now, in our human forms, and in our blood runs the genes of all of our ancestors. Our genes run back to the Vikings, the Romans, the Sumerians, the Mongols and even back to the Neanderthals. Neanderthals lived over 35,000 years ago and they are showing up in our genes! Scorpio is the realm of the dead but also of what survives.
Think about all the strength, perseverance, cleverness it took to endure all those thousands of years and show up in our blood. Think of all the mothers and fathers in your ancestry that protected and nurtured your descendants so that we can be here now.
I encourage you to recall some of your ancestors and honor them on this New Moon. Maybe print some pictures of the oldest ancestor you can find and light a candle for them. Cook some food that was one of your dearly departed’s favorites. Tell stories of them. Celebrate them!
This New Moon is a powerful time to ask them for guidance and shelter. Listen for advice and encouragement. They are there in our very being. They will come as the veils are thin and they are listening.
This last New Moon before the time change and the true decent into the cozy, dark season is ripe with potent guidance. Let the noise of the world fade back, go within and receive the blessings from your ancestors.
