On Tuesday evening February 10, 2026 before a standing room only audience of concerned citizens, the Bay City town council unanimously passed a proclamation entitled ‘Providing Public Trust, Community Safety, and Constitutional Protections’ – resolving to “stand with our community and affirm humanity, dignity, and constitutional principles; condemn the use of aggressive and unwarranted tactics, racial profiling, lack of due process, use of unmarked vehicles, masked agents and unidentifiable personnel in immigration enforcement activities and deem such tactics as harmful to public trust, community safety, and constitutional protections.”
The support from the crowd was overwhelming and the unanimous passing of the proclamation was met with an enthusiastic standing ovation.
Congratulations to Bay City for being the first city in Tillamook County to show up and stand up. Thank you! Other cities, take note!
Thank you to Mayor Welch, the Bay City council members as well as all of the citizens that attended.
This confirms what we already knew, Bay City is an incredible place to live.
Standing up for human rights, due process, human decency, should be core values in every community.
Please share with your town council and let’s see more communities taking a stand.
