BAY CITY ARTS CENTER ARTISTS OF THE MONTH JANUARY 2026: Brian Cameron & Ruth Paris – Opening Friday Jan. 2nd

Posted on December 28, 2025 by Editor

In January, stay tuned for local works of art by Brian Cameron and Ruth Paris. Join the artists at Bay City Arts Center for the gallery opening on Friday January 2, 2026 from 5 to 7 pm.

Brian Cameron (showcasing downstairs) is a local of Tillamook County for over 40 years. Always being interested in the arts, he has been spurred by creative curiosity.  Brian focused his skills through good instruction in high school and later, an art degree in Seattle in 2003. Since then he’s diversified his skillsets into tourism, writing, journalism, service, and now aides the elderly and disabled in need of care services. But art has always been a driving factor for him. This is his first installment of  “Portraits of Nature” watercolor series.  Join us here at Bay City Arts Center for an in depth view into our local temperate rain forest, throughout the month of January 2026.

“So many gravitate toward our Tillamook Coast, but it’s the enigmatic and forever mysterious rivers, watersheds, streams, creeks, and waterways that inspire me more. Most of these pieces are done on-location in plein aire style. I prefer to keep things fresh, fast, and in an environment where my dogs can play unencumbered.

The effort was built over the course of six years, when I first picked up my trusty watercolor palette, and I see no reason to stop. Please enjoy this portrait of nature with me,” said Brian.

Ruth Paris (showcasing upstairs) creates whimsical, original art from driftwood and found coastal treasures. After retiring to the Oregon Coast, daily beach walks with her dogs became the heart of her creative practice. She transforms natural materials-driftwood, resin, sea glass, kelp, and pine needles-into imaginative forms that “reveal what the wood wants to be.” Art began as a shared passion with her late husband and continues to bring her joy.

There’s still time to support our 25th Anniversary Campaign!
