“Our schools are strongest when teachers feel supported, all students are given every opportunity to succeed, and parents have a seat at the table,” said Affolter. “I am running for school board to champion policies that prioritize these values, ensuring our schools remain a place where learning and growth flourish.”
Affolter was born and raised in Tillamook and has dedicated his career to serving the community. For 20 years, he worked for the Tillamook County Creamery Association before transitioning into education, where he spent five years working in special education for the Tillamook School District. Currently, he serves as the Safety Coordinator for Tillamook Bay Community College. His passion for youth development extends beyond the classroom—he grew the Oregon Coast Futbol Club into a thriving local youth sports program and has played an active role in the Outdoor School Program, serving in roles ranging from Co-Director to camp cook.
Affolter and his wife, Rachel, are proud parents of three sons. His deep investment in the Tillamook community, both professionally and personally, drives his commitment to strengthening local schools. His campaign focus will include advocating for competitive compensation and professional development for teachers and staff, ensuring strong academic and extracurricular programs for students, and fostering open communication
between schools and families.
