CITY OF TILLAMOOK PUBLIC NOTICE: Planning Commission Vacancies

The Tillamook City Council is currently accepting volunteer applications for appointments to serve on the City of Tillamook Planning Commission.
The City of Tillamook has three (3) vacancies on the Tillamook City Planning Commission.
• (1) position needs to be filled immediately, and the application period will be open until it is filled. The term for the immediate needed position will finish the term of the exiting commissioner and will expire on 2-28-2029.
• The remaining (2) positions are currently filled and will expire in February of 2026. These appointments are to a 4-year term that will expire February 28, 2030.

Interested persons should submit a volunteer application, along with a letter of interest to the City Recorder’s Office.

Applicants should:
• Be a qualified elector under the laws of the State of Oregon and the City of Tillamook.
• Be available for evening meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month and at special meetings as required.
• Have an interest in the future of our community.
• Must live or own a business within the Tillamook City Urban Growth Boundary.

• Drop off: Tillamook City Hall, 210 Laurel Avenue (office hours are 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday- Thursday)

What is the Planning Commission all about?
The Tillamook Planning Commission serves at the pleasure of the City Council and is the land use review body overseeing such things as plan reviews, conditional use permits, variances, and zoning issues. Members of the Tillamook Planning Commission are appointed at large for four-year terms. There are six members, plus a chairperson. The Planning Commission meets on the first Thursday of the month and retains the third Thursday of the month for alternative or special meetings.

• Vice Chair-Dustin Johnson–Term ends 2/28/2028.
• Ray Jacobs–Term Ends 2/28/2029.
• Tamra Jacobs–Term Ends 2/28/2027.
• Ruth LaFrance–Term Ends 2/28/2026.
• Immediate position open-Term Ends 2/28/2029.
• Patrick Matthews–Term Ends 2/28/2027.
