The City of Tillamook announces the grand opening of the new all-abilities playground at Coatsville Park. The City will host a ribbon cutting event on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1404 9th St, Tillamook, OR 97141.
The all-abilities play structure was made possible by grants from the Tillamook Coast Visitors Association (TCVA) – a non-profit organization that promotes tourism and supports economic vitality along the Tillamook County coast through destination marketing, community partnerships, and stewardship initiatives. The organization reinvests lodging tax revenue into projects, events, and infrastructure that enhance visitor experiences while benefiting local communities. And the Moda Assist Program – a partnership between Moda Health and the Portland Trail Blazers that turns on-court assists during the Trail Blazers’ season into real-world community improvements across Oregon.
Mayor Aaron Burris expressed his gratitude for partnerships that help make playground upgrades like this possible, stating, “Their commitment helps ensure that children and families in our community will have a safe and welcoming place to play for years to come.”
The celebration and ribbon cutting will include remarks from Mayor Burris and feature family-friendly activities including complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs and ice-cream, a Trail Blazers Youth Basketball Clinic for kids aged 6-15, the Tillamook County Bookmobile, an appearance by Blaze the Trail Cat, face painting, games, prizes and more.
