The Tillamook County Fairgrounds were filled with energy, generosity, and community spirit as over 250 attendees gathered for the Annual Tillamook County Search and Rescue (SAR) Banquet and Fundraiser. Hosted in partnership with the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Foundation, the event raised an impressive $36,000 to support vital SAR operations and training.
Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and participated in both live and silent auctions, fueled by over 150 generous donations from local businesses and individuals. New to this year’s banquet were raffle prizes and free carnival-style games, adding extra fun and engagement for all ages.
The event would not have been possible without the incredible support from sponsors and vendors, whose contributions helped make the evening a resounding success. A special thank you goes to Commissioner Paul, who served as Master of Ceremonies, and to Commissioner Skaar and Senator Weber for their valued support throughout the night. The community donated more than $35,000 to the volunteer SAR team!
It was also a pleasure to welcome representatives from both the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office, whose presence reinforced the strong ties and collaboration within Oregon’s law enforcement and SAR communities.
One of the evening’s most heartwarming moments was the presentation of the Dean Burdick SAR Volunteer Award, which was proudly awarded to Jodi Richardson in recognition of her outstanding dedication and service.
This year’s event demonstrated the powerful impact of community collaboration and support. Organizers are already looking ahead to next year’s banquet—and the continued success of the Tillamook County Search and Rescue Team.
