It’s not too late to register for one of the three remaining Tidepool Discovery events in Oceanside! Come and join us June 26th, 27th and 28th during the great low tides that are perfect for exploring and discovering some amazing creatures lurking at the water’s edge.
Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS staff and volunteers will be onsite in the tidepools to share about the habitats along the coastal edge. Learn about the anemone clone wars, how a sea star eats, or how hermit crabs steal shell homes from other crabs. From seaweeds to sculpin fish, there is an amazing world to discover!
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community, friends and family as you enjoy the beauty of Oceanside’s amazing tide pools. We hope to see you on the beach!
Details: Wear boots or bring a change of shoes. DO NOT WEAR Flip flops (they are never ideal for exploring tide pools). Be prepared for Oregon Coast weather.
This program involves walking on slippery and uneven surfaces, including rocks that may be covered in water, seaweed, and barnacles. We understand everyone learns and experiences the outdoors differently, and we strive to support everyone who is interested in attending our events! Please contact us in advance so we can do our best to accommodate your accessibility needs.
