GORDON’S WEEKLY WEATHER UPDATE 10/13/25: Frosty mornings, a few dry days before the rain returns again for the weekend

Posted on October 13, 2025 by Editor

By Gordon McCraw, Meteorologist for the Tillamook County Pioneer
And a good Monday morning to ya Tillamook where it is looking like that low pressure area that has been giving us some showers since the end of last week, is finally drifting south into the southern Oregon coast. This allowed the sunny skies to return though with some breezy northerly winds. We can expect clear skies tonight, still with some northerly winds, the low here drops to near 43, but up in the Coast Range, the low temperatures could fall into the mid 30s which when you add the moisture, could cause some early morning frost. This has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Frost Advisory from midnight tonight (10/13/25) through 9am tomorrow for the Coast Range areas. Time to start protecting those sensitive plants if you live up in that area.

Tomorrow looks sunny again, but with easterly winds as a ridge of high pressure builds in, the high near 64, then a mostly clear night with diminishing winds, the low near 43.

Wednesday should be sunny also, but we’ll be watching a trough of low pressure dropping down from the Gulf of Alaska that will be flattening the ridge. We will see westerly winds returning 4-8, the high near 62, then increasing clouds Wednesday night from that approaching trough, then add a slight chance of showers after midnight, maybe some patchy fog, the low near 45.

That approaching trough brings an increasing chance of showers on Thursday under mostly cloudy skies, the high near 60, then some showers are likely Thursday night as that trough crosses, the low near 48.

The models start getting a little fuzzy Friday on through the weekend but it is looking like that ridge flattens which allows disturbances to ride the flow in, giving us a chance of showers on Friday then again starting Saturday night into Sunday, high temperatures remain in the low 60s Friday and Saturday but fall into the upper 50s for Sunday, the lows remain in the mid 40s.

And that’s it for this Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day forecast Tillamook. I hope yall have a great week and I’ll be back next week.
