We saw a little light rain over the weekend, then the ridge of high pressure returned bringing fair skies that led to some chilly morning low temperatures. That ridge continues to build in over the area today, but we still saw some cool morning temperatures this morning with the low dropping to around 34 degrees. Fortunately, the ridge is drifting eastward and building so even with mostly clear skies and calm winds tonight, the low only drops to near 46.
The ridge axis drifts over us tomorrow leading to sunny skies with the winds becoming northerly 4-8, the high temperature up near 74, then we see increasing clouds tomorrow night as yet another trough of low pressure pushes in toward the coast, bringing a disturbance that tracks mainly to the north. We still see calm winds tomorrow night and the overnight low is around 46.
Wednesday the trough of low pressure moves across and weakens, giving us a slight chance of a light shower, somewhere, starting in the afternoon, the winds becoming northwesterly 5-10, afternoon high temperatures near 58. The trough is pushing off to the northeast Wednesday night so that slight chance of a shower ends before midnight, and with mostly cloudy skies and calm winds, the low drops to near 40.
Thursday and Friday we are influenced by another high pressure ridge that gives us mostly sunny skies with the afternoon highs near 62 Thursday, but warming to 65 Friday. With partly cloudy nights, the lows are around 43.
As for the weekend, we are looking at another trough pushing the ridge off to the east, so we see some clouds moving in, giving us a partly sunny day with the high near 65, then we have a slight chance of showers under mostly cloudy skies Saturday night, the low near 46.
That shower chance increases some Sunday, which is Mother’s Day by the way, highs near 62, lows near 43.
