Well Tillamook, it looks like your string of afternoon temperatures hitting 70 or above comes to an end today. The ridge that gave us sunny and warm temperatures has shifted to the west some which allowed a weak disturbance to drop down, helping to lower the temperatures some. The overall pattern doesn’t change though; we continue to see the fog and stratus push in at night then burn off leaving partly to mostly sunny and breezy afternoons.
So, the fog and stratus return tonight as the wind becomes light and variable, the overnight low drops to near 51.
That ridge of high pressure builds back towards the area tomorrow, and the clouds and fog burn off leaving a sunny afternoon with the winds becoming northerly 8-12 gusting to 18, as the high temperature climbs back up near 76. The sky remains mostly clear tomorrow night, the winds diminish, the lows are only near 59.
Wednesday looks to be pretty much a repeat of Tuesdays, with sunny skies and breezy afternoon winds, the high temperature again up near 76, then the clouds return Wednesday night, lows near 55.
Now, if you have business on the other side of the Coast Range tomorrow, or Wednesday, there is a Heat Advisory in effect over in the valley from noon Tuesday until 10pm Wednesday as their temperatures are expected to climb up into the mid to upper 90s, possibly even hitting a hundred in some spots.
Thursday on, the forecast gets a little harder as the models are mixed, while it does appear the summer like weather remains, the question is in the temperature. Some of the models have a disturbance or two moving across that would cause cooler temperatures and maybe some clouds, while the others just show fair, dry, and mild temperature continuing through the end of the week and weekend.
So, for now, we go with some marine clouds at night with the lows around 54, and partly to mostly sunny afternoons with the high temperatures hovering around 68.
Finally, just a reminder, a county-wide Burning Ban for Tillamook County takes effect tomorrow, July 15th at one minute after midnight!
