We had a weak upper level disturbance move through overnight that did little except increase the cloudiness that persisted most of today. It did bring some light showers to a few areas across the state before it moved on off to the east.
Tonight, with the disturbance having moved on out of the region, and with high pressure building in, and the onshore flow with light winds, we can expect the fog and stratus to develop after around midnight, the low dropping to near 52.
Tomorrow, we start out with the fog and stratus that slowly burns off leaving a mostly sunny afternoon, the winds becoming westerly 5-10, the high temperature climbs to near 68. With that continued onshore flow with the ridge of high pressure still dominating the upper level weather pattern, the stratus and fog returns late tomorrow night, as the winds die off, the low near 53.
The ridge continues to build Wednesday, so the stratus and fog burn off a little faster that morning leaving a sunny day with westerly winds 5-10, the high peaking at 70, then that fog and marine layer returns later that night with the diminishing winds, lows near 53.
It looks like by Thursday we have a weak low pressure area off the coast of northern California while we are seeing the ridge weakening and drifting east but we can still expect another sunny day after the fog and stratus clears later that morning, the high near 68, then yep, the fog and stratus returns in the early morning hours, the low continues around 53.
It appears the low off California will just meander down there over the weekend, affecting our weather little. As for us, we see little change here with mostly sunny days after the fog and stratus clears each morning, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, then the patchy fog and stratus returns in the early morning hours, the high temperatures around 67, and with mostly clear nights, other than the fog, lows down near 51.
And there you have it, pretty much your standard summer weather though the temperatures are a little above average for the first half of the week but return to normal the rest of the week.
