We saw a typical summer pattern over the holiday weekend with the marine layer moving in overnight but burning off leaving sunny, mild and breezy afternoons. Now with a ridge building in, today we saw another mild breezy afternoon with highs in the low 70s. We see a mostly clear night tonight, the fog and stratus will again make its presence known in the early morning hours, and with light northerly winds, the overnight low temperature falls to around 51.
Not much changes tomorrow, the fog and stratus will burn off leaving another sunny day with the winds becoming northerly 5-10, the high up around 71. The high pressure ridge starts to weaken tomorrow night and with light winds and patchy fog, lows only drop to near 55.
By Wednesday, we see a low pressure area to the north along the British Columbia coast with another low pressure area to the south near the northern California coast. These likely push some clouds in across our area making Wednesday a mostly cloudy to cloudy day after the patchy morning fog clears, the afternoon winds now westerly 4-8, afternoon highs only up near 64. Still the mostly cloudy skies Wednesday night with calm winds, and some patchy fog, lows near 53.
It is looking like another ridge will build back in Thursday, which likely pushes the afternoon highs up some again. So, with mostly sunny skies on Thursday, the high is around 67, and with mostly clear skies Thursday night, the low is around 51.
Friday looks to be another sunny and mild day with afternoon highs up around 73, then the models start to get mixed, some say we have a trough of low pressure approaching, some of the models say more fair and mild days. This leads up to think we will see some clouds moving in Friday night then Saturday is likely partly sunny with the high up near 71, then Sunday we see fewer clouds with highs still around 71, and the lows still hanging around 53.
