On Friday April 11 a meeting to meet the local school board candidates was held at the Hebo fire station. April Bailey the apparent organizer started out by wanting to bar the press or any one associated with Indivisible.
Inviting the media in would’ve been the right thing to do. An experienced organizer would have reserved a few chairs for them.
April proceeded to lead off the meeting with a couple tasteless jokes. One which I caught about how many guns you have in order to attend the meeting. When the audience showed their displeasure, she quipped “This just shows you that Democrats have no sense of humor.”
What complete insensitivity and unawareness in relation to guns in the schools with the relentless mass shootings. What facilitator purposefully sets a mean spirited tone?
The question and answers back and forth were note worthy in which candidates did their homework and which did not.
But all tried to convey their positions. And the role of the board? Hard question to answer apparently.
These public meetings need an impartial facilitator.
