America is a nation in crisis. We are so severely polarized that we can’t talk to each other. Our ability to govern ourselves is severely compromised. We need answers and we need change.
That’s why the Braver Angels* Rise for America campaign is so important.
We realize that the future of America is in our hands. It is up to us to get involved and be active, engaged citizens. With respectful dialogue, deep listening, and creative thinking, we CAN resolve the conflicts that divide us. We CAN build connections across the political divide that will change relationships and institutions, strengthening our democratic republic.
You Can Help!
Braver Angels’ new campaign, “Rise for America”, is a campaign that attracts me very much. It begins with people having civil conversations with people that may or may not agree with.
I am willing to talk, and listen, to anybody about anything. I promise to be polite and civil and would expect the same in return. I also promise that I do not want to change your mind about anything. My viewpoints slant heavily to the “Blue” persuasion, but my reading has nuanced many of my opinions to the “Purple” side.
My hope is that civil discourse will be a beginning to an escape from this seemingly endless performative politics and journalism that has us “circling the drain” and ignoring so many pressing problems.
