Holiday excitement filled the aisles of the local Fred Meyer as the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office proudly participated in this year’s Shop With a Cop event, bringing law enforcement officers and children together for a joyful and meaningful community celebration.
When Sheriff Josh Brown wasn’t chasing kids up and down aisles, we were able to speak with him about this event. “Shop With a Cop is not only one of the most important events we do—it’s also one of my personal favorites. Seeing the excitement on these kids’ faces and having the chance for our deputies to connect with them in such a positive way is what community policing is all about. These moments matter.”
The event was organized by the Tillamook City Police Department with participation from Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, Manzanita Police Department, Oregon State Police, U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Officers from each agency partnered with children to shop for gifts, share laughs, and build positive connections.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Friends of Tillamook Police, Tillamook County Sheriff’s Foundation and our AMAZING community, donations were nothing short of remarkable. Each participating child was provided $250 to shop. Volunteers from TLC Bank generously donated their time to assist with gift wrapping, adding an extra layer of holiday magic to the experience.
The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Fred Meyer, all participating agencies, volunteers, donors, and community members whose generosity and teamwork made this event a tremendous success and helped ensure a brighter holiday season for local children and families.
