Neah-Kah-Nie Future Natural Resource Leaders (FNRL) Team Brings Home 3rd Place, More Awards, Ribbons

This past Saturday March 16th, Neah-Kah-Nie High School’s FNRL team traveled to Waldport to compete with 11 other schools. Overall NKN finished 3rd place and missed 2nd by only 2 points. Our team’s math and writing skills created a lot of points towards the final team score.
Trinity Schenk Williams takes fourth place in the Novice Arbor Climb and 6th place in Job Interview.
Tessa Benito took third place in the Prepared Speech
Briza Gonzales was close to the awards podium on a several events
Aiden Kallas took 1st place in Written Expression ( students are given a prompt 4 days prior) and 5th in Log Scaling (students take measurements and determine tree volume. Then subtract out defects to find the merchantable lumber with each log, they do this for 8 logs and find a total volume). He also placed in 5th Plant ID and 5th Prepared Speech.
Ryder Alm took 5th place in Written Expression and tied for 1st in Log Scaling, 4th in Pole Climb and Choker Set, and Cable Splicing with Dallas Coleman
Emmanuel Hardy placed 2nd in Animal ID. 4th in plant ID. and 5th in Map Reading
Ansel Albrechtsen took 1st place in Plant iD, 4th in Demo Speech, 4th Compass and Pacing and 6th in Arbor Climb.
Josiah Nearhring placed 4th in Prepared Speech.
