We are in the final days of Oregon’s 83rd Legislative Session. In these last days of this six month marathon the speed has ramped up to a sprint to the finish line, otherwise known as Sine Die. The phrase “Sine Die” is Latin for “without a day”. This means that we will adjourn without a day set to return to the 2025 regular session of the Eighty-third Legislative Assembly. Effectively closing the door on the 2025 session.
While Sine Die will happen this month, one would think it was already 4th of July with all the sparks flying in committee!
Join us as we discuss the problematic HB 2025 work session, the delayed fiscal information and the unusual removal of Senator Meek from the committee by Senate President Wagner. We also discuss my opposition to this $15 billion bill, focusing on the lack of fiscal details and its potential negative impacts on taxpayers and rural communities.
