NORTH COAST COMMUNITIES FOR WATERSHED PROTECTION: UPCOMING EVENTS

Posted on March 14, 2026 by Rhonda Piasecki

Public Interest Environmental Law Conference (March 12-15)
North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection is honored to present at this year’s Public Interest Environmental Law Conference (PIELC). The panel presentation, “Speaking Truth to Power: Standing up for Safe Drinking Water and Clean Air through Community Grassroots Advocacy,” is on Sunday, March 15, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. We’ve had an information table all four days, Thursday through Sunday.

March 15: NCCWP will be tabling at Ft. George Brewery in conjunction with the Wild Arts Film Festival. Stop by and chat with us about our coastal drinking water from 11:30am – 5pm.

March 17: City of Rockaway Beach Forest Stewardship Plan Advisory Committee NCCWP has submitted comments regarding the city’s purchase of part of the Jetty Creek watershed. Emailed comments are due 48 hours before the meeting, and you can comment in person and via Zoom. Click here for the agenda. Rockaway Beach City Hall, 276 Highway 101, Rockaway Beach, or via Zoom, 3 p.m.

March 23: Deadline for public comments on the Trump administration’s latest plan for Bureau of Land Management forest would upend decades of settled law and accelerate the clearcutting of old growth forests in Western Oregon.

Oregon Wild has a good overview of what’s at stake, with a link to make comments, https://oregonwild.org/ or call the congressional switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask for your senator or representative.

NCCWP wants no more logging and pesticide use in community drinking water sources regardless of who owns the land, and wants an end to pesticide applications near where people live, work, and recreate. Safe drinking water and clean air are part of the public trust that we all are entitled to have. Please help North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection safeguard and restore our drinking watersheds. . www.healthywatershed.org | North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection
