Dear Friends,
Many of us know that America First is no longer at the top of the President’s Agenda.
We can thank the City of Manzanita for taking a stand this week, along with other cities in Tillamook County (Bay City and Wheeler), against ICE in our communities. We thank the Manzanita Council for bringing this to a vote and also thank you to the people who attended the meeting.
People have questioned why North County Resistance has been out protesting every Saturday for over a year now. Kristi Noem is now out of her job. This realization gives us all a reason to go on with our Protests. We won’t give up. Accountability was never Noem’s headlights, but it is in ours. You know when I typed American Cabinet Secretaries into my search engine what came up were a bunch of wooden desks. Pretty funny!

In the United States Cabinet is the Department of Defense (DOD). Further reading says, “The Department of Defense (DOD) provides military forces to deter war, and to protect the security of the United States”.
“The Current head of the United States Department of Defense is Pete Hegseth, who serves as Secretary of Defense and is the top authority in the U.S. military chain of command under the president.”
This past week we have not “deterred war”. Further, neither Trump or Hegseth gave or are giving peace talks a chance. I leave you to go down the rabbit hole of Pete Hegseth’s background. I personally see Pete Hegseth’s smile quite like what you see on the bully on the school ground.
OK, now, since we are not giving up, we need your help. Bring another person with you to the North County Resistance Protest in Nehalem on Saturday, March 7th, from noon to 2 PM. And yes, dress for some wet weather. We will be collecting both people and animal food for the North County Food Bank and Nehalem Bay Community Services. Nehalem Bay Community Services also has a clothing bank and donations to that are greatly appreciated.
The NO KINGS3 event is scheduled for March 28. It will be held in Manzanita from noon to 2 PM. We still need volunteers for this event. If you can help please contact me either by email (editor@tillamookcountypioneer.net) or at the Protest in Nehalem on Saturday. We need 6 people to help with crossing at crosswalks, 5 people as safety marshals, and 3 more people for setup and teardown.
Also we are having an event on Sunday, March 15, which involves holding already made signs about fascism. More information about this will come out by this coming Sunday.
Thanks for reading.
