Rebecca Wilhelm, 74, of Tillamook, Oregon passed away peacefully at home April 24, 2025, Surrounded by those who loved her.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Rebecca—known fondly as Becki—was a woman of warmth, wit, and quiet strength. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially a good book, a glass of wine, and meaningful conversations with those she held dear. She had an adventurous spirit and deep curiosity about the world, which she fulfilled through her love of travel and exploring new destinations around the globe.
Becki attended the University of Arizona and later the University of Washington, where she earned her Master of Library Science degree.
Her passion for learning and literacy became a lifelong vocation. She taught library skills for School District #9 in Tillamook and later worked for both Tillamook Bay Community College and Tillamook County Library, where dedication enriched the lives of countless students and patrons.
She was also a founding member of the Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts, one of her proudest accomplishments. Her commitment to the arts and local theater community left a lasting legacy. Becki had a deep love of film and hosted an Oscar party every year, bringing friends together to celebrate cinema with joy and flair.
Becki was a deeply generous person who always thought of others before herself. Her compassion, empathy, and quiet acts of kindness touched countless lives and created lasting memories for those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ken Phillips; her son, Brady Lyons (Rachael); her sisters, Brenda Fredricks, BethAnn Chastain (John); Barbie Powell (Mike), and Beverly Redman (Bob); her brother Tom Wilhelm (Sharon); and many nieces and nephews who will remember her for her warmth, humor, and giving heart.
A celebration of will will be held Sunday June 1st at Alderbrook Hall in Tillamook at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the Tillamook Food Bank.
