You’ll see crews setting up multiple work zones next week to prepare for construction to start later in January. We plan to replace guardrail at locations throughout the corridor and estimate starting near mileposts 5 and 19.

When construction starts, you can expect:
- Crews working during the day.
- Multiple work zones on OR 6.
- Lane and shoulder closures as needed.
- Flaggers directing traffic as needed.
- Construction noise and delays.
- Temporary traffic signals to direct drivers through the 24/7 lane closure in spring 2026.
This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change. Visit TripCheck.com for the most up-to-date information on traffic and impacts.
About the work we’re doing

With this project, we plan to:
- Upgrade outdated guardrail.
- Install new guardrail where it is missing.
- Replace the curb ramps at the bridge between Mills Bridge Road and Pete Street to bring them to current ADA standards.
Guardrail helps prevent drivers from entering dangerous areas. It helps keep everyone safe by providing a clear visual guide for where drivers should and should not travel.
