Donald Trump wants to be king. Americans -Tillamookians- say no.
Over 800 people lined the streets in Tillamook for the No Kings Two rally on October 18, 2025. “No Kings Two was massive. People just kept showing up to join the rally,” said Don Backman, spokesperson for Indivisible Tillamook Action which put on the event. “We hand counted over 800 people here in Tillamook. It’s the largest event we’ve had by far. Our previous largest was at Hands Off with well over 500.”
The three simultaneous events in Tillamook County all began at noon, with 106 participating in Cloverdale with the South County Community Allies Taking a Stand and over 750 participating in Manzanita with the North County Resistance. Combined, there were more than 1,650 people at the three events. The participants chanted, sang, laughed, waved at all the people in the cars who were loudly honking their support, and had fun. Some participants dressed up, and there were a lot of inflatable costumes, include a dragon, leopard, a flock of chickens, frogs and of course a cow! The family-friendly event was attended by people from all walks of life, and all ages.
With the Trump Administration attempting an authoritarian take over, turning America into a dictatorship, and the Republican controlled Congress going along with it, millions across the country (over 7 million) stood up to say No Kings. In Tillamook, many of the people who showed up had never joined a rally or protest before, yet they determined that the actions of the current administration are so threatening to democracy that they had to do something.
Indivisible Tillamook Coast Action (ITCA) is a non-partisan organization, which means that it is made up of democrats, republicans, non-affiliated voters, and people who are alarmed by the authoritarian over-reach and who feel they need to do something to protect their rights and the constitution. Indivisible is dedicated to peaceful, non-violent protest. More information is available at Indivisible.org.
