The Port of Nehalem is proud to support the educational goals of graduating seniors from Neah-Kah-Nie High School through two annual scholarships of $2,500 each. These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance for students pursuing further education in either a traditional college setting or a trade school.
We believe in fostering both academic and vocational excellence and are committed to helping students achieve their dreams.
The Traditional College Scholarship (Science Degree) in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded to a graduating student who plans to pursue a degree in medical, maritime, agriculture, forestry, or marine sciences from a two-year or four-year college or university.
The Trade School Scholarship in the amount of $2,500 is intended for a student seeking vocational education or certification through a trade school or apprenticeship program.
Applicants must submit:
- Two letters of recommendation
- A personal Statement or Essay discussing their educational and career goals and how the scholarship will help them achieve those goals.
- Provide a copy of their Academic History
The top three candidates will be notified of a 30-minute in-person interview with three Port of Nehalem Commissioners.
Applications must be submitted to the Neah-Kah-Nie High School guidance office by April 15, 2026.
