Rockaway Roastery Opens Nov. 9th

The moment residents in Rockaway Beach have been anxiously waiting for – one of the most anticipated new business openings in the town’s history! The opening of the Rockaway Roastery, Wednesday November 9th at 8am!
Partners in the Rockaway Roastery, Maria Bernhard, Darrin Daniel, Cosmo Jones and Julian Sakata have been on quite the journey getting The Rockaway Roastery open. Their original plan included an Air B&B. Upon listening to the community, they changed their design plan. Julian stated, “We want to be the town’s living room.” Maria chimed in, “You know, that place where you can relax, catch up with friends and enjoy a coffee and a pastry. Darrin added, “We will also have teas and of course, beer and wine”. Cosmo said “ and let’s not forget music.”

The Roastery will be featuring baked goods from Cannon Beach Bakery, Stumptown Coffee and small batch coffee from independent coffee farmers around the world. They are sourcing as much locally as they can before expanding out, such as ciders produced in Wheeler. Fort George, Rogue, and several more Oregon Microbrews will be on tap as well. Cosmo said, “We are keeping it simple to start, with a biscuit sandwich, Boba and bakery items for breakfast. We will build up to inhouse baked gourmet flatbreads, pizza and other savory baked items. We will also have vegan/vegetarian choices, too.” Julian added, “We are tailoring our menu based on our local clientele and looking forward to hearing your suggestions and incorporating them into our menu or, as specials. We will also have a bakery catalog on hand to pre-order items. Need 4 dozen donuts or pastries for a meeting? Wedding cake? Birthday cake? Stop by and place your order.”

Darrin pointed out, “The menu is not the only thing we will build. We plan to be the local venue for wedding receptions, birthday, anniversary and other special events. Cosma said, “We would also like to hold music events in the summer and Live band Karaoke.”
We plan to have our Grand Opening New Year’s Eve with Live Music and all the works! In the meantime, stop on by and help us get our groove on.
